in search of a pot 'o' gold... or perhaps a golden
trophy or two.

awarded to 25% of all entrants. Prizes
awarded for both Blitz & Bughouse tournaments. Good sportsmanship award. We will also have
something special for chess players who did their best and learned a lot! No one goes home empty handed.

Swiss. Time Control: G/5 You will play 2
games with each opponent you're paired with, one as white and one as
black. Pairings set by computer. Blitz and Bughouse rules,
based on those used at USCF Scholastic Nationals. (This event is for fun, not ratings.) Players without clocks run the risk of not
being able to play. Bughouse players can
come without a partner and make a new friend on the day of the tournament. This tournament is open to all ages and
playing abilities... age 5-adult! Blitz/Bughouse

SECTIONS: Blitz: Sections will be determined based on ratings
and number of entries.
Bughouse: Sections will be determined based on a
combined rating and number of entries.
REGISTRATION:
$10
for both events (Bughouse & Blitz),$5 for one
event (Bughouse or Blitz) if postmarked 5 days prior to tournament date, or at
the door $20 for both events, $10 for
one event. Make checks payable to the
Clatskanie Chess Club.
